Did you know?

I wish the information I am about to post was common knowledge. Sadly, it isn't. In my line of work, promoting healthy food is a constant battle between what is labeled as healthy, and what IS ACTUALLY healthy. I can't tell you how many times I've heard the lines, "But it says it's fat free/ sugar free/ all natural." These are all just words that the food industry uses to fool you into buying their products. A rule of thumb I use for all of my clients, and even to friends and family, is to only shop the perimeter of the grocery store. Chances are, that's where all the healthy stuff is. I will forever and always promote whole, natural and organic foods over ANYTHING else. Things in boxes and cans are usually filled with other junk that none of us should be ingesting.
